Five Flooring Trends to Follow in 2020
Waterproof Flooring
No longer are we forced to deal with the shock and disappointment of an accidental spill on our living room carpet. Instead, revolutionary technology over the last few years has brought us some unbelievable waterproof options such as vinyl, WPC Vinyl, laminate, ceramic and porcelain tile, and even carpet!
Imagine the last time you were enjoying a glass of red wine on the couch and you weren’t quite able to place it back on the table, or the time one of your kids was reaching for a glass of juice on the counter just to see it slowly come crashing to the ground. We can all agree that spills are an absolute nightmare and bound to happen in this day and age. Because of this, we are firm believers that prevention is the best remedy and waterproof flooring is the future of the flooring industry.

Textured Carpets
Traditionally, carpet has been perceived as the “safe option” for flooring when remodeling homes. With the rise in recent years of the hand-scraped and distressed hardwood flooring, it is about time that carpet followed! Now, it is possible to combine aesthetics and comfort.
Whether this is to provide some comfort and feel “at-home” in your living room or incorporate some patterns to your bedroom, we expect textured flooring to experience some serious growth this coming year.

Blonde and White-Washed Kitchen Flooring
Darker wood (and wood-like) flooring has been all the rage in the past two decades. While darker colors have been perceived as classy and beautiful, lighter and blonde flooring has been viewed as cheap and old-fashioned.
In the past few years, more and more homeowners and designers have welcomed white-washed and blonde wood flooring as a clean and simple way to lighten up kitchen spaces.
Currently, the modern kitchen can be described as lighter-toned flooring with either black or white cabinets and gold accents. We are huge fans of this trend and we believe it is here to stay for years to come!

Eco-friendly Flooring
Eco-friendly floors have been around for a while now, however, never before has there been such a variety of options to suit every price range! Technology over recent years has pushed the price of “green” flooring down so that we can all have our dream interior without sacrificing the environment.
Eco-friendly flooring has seen some exponential growth in 2019 and we can only expect it to become more popular in 2020 as more options such as luxury vinyl, carpet, bamboo flooring, and engineered and reclaimed hardwood floors continue to arise.

Geometric Bathroom Tiles
Want to make your bathroom more visually interesting? Geometric bathroom tiles offer a great opportunity to be expressive and add a pop of color to make the bathroom stand out, even from the rest of your house.
Bathrooms tend to be bland, without a lot of colors and patterns. However, bathrooms offer the best place to be expressive and combine different colors and patterns. Or, if that is not your style, you can combine the pattern of the geometric tiles with dark tones to create a more modern, minimalist look.
The best thing about this trend is it is not limited to any particular style or color, rather, it is just an opportunity to make a statement with timeless appeal.
